The Wii is a good system but it wont be able to compete with the other two in terms of sales once the big gun titles come out for the PS3 and Xbox360

DMC was a title naturally associated with the PlayStation brand. The fact that most, if not all 3rd party exclusives will be multi-platform will mean lesser of a reason for people to invest in a PS3.
The PS2's success, or atleast a large part of it, was the variation of games and its massive massive 3rd party support.
Now the reasons to spend £425 are getting cut.

Is brand name. Simple as that.
People are willing to splash any amount of cash on it because of Sony's success of the PS2.
Same thing people would do if Windows Vista cost $600. They'd buy it for brand name.
That would mean the PS3 sold around 20-22,000 consoles in Australia (not including games and accessories).
The xbox360 still sold more making around $20,000 (not including games or accessories).
Just gaming. That's why im in the 360 boat for the moment.
360 is the better gaming console right now hands down. And thats what meant to matter to us gamers, right?

..because DMC is going to the 360, it's being painted as a crappy game by Sony fanboys. And yea, the same lot who signed a 2,000 petition complaining the fact that it went multi platform.

This isn't as big of a news as Sony exclusives going to the 360, and it's actually no where as critical.
Why?
One console costs £425 whilst the other costs no more than £280 (with games).
What is more of a news? PS3 games going to the 360, making the price difference seem a joke in comparison. Or 360 games going to the PS3.
In other words, in one years time, you will see the same 3rd party games on both games. Except the PS...
I'd rather get a PS3 just by default they screwed me over.
